Our friends Ian and Addie, parents of Ruby's long time boyfriend Julian, officially dove into the boundless sea of marriage this past May. It was a very lovely (and hot!) backyard union in the beautiful Texas hill country. Surrounded by friends and family and under the trees, Ian and Addie spoke their vows to each other, to Julian, to the universe. Ian got a bit of flack for his "it happened naturally..." speech, but at the heart was a very beautiful sentiment, that their love had blossomed easily and simply, as it should have, and seemed to flow along like the river, always instinctively traveling toward larger waters. (You know I had to use a water analogy to describe the love of two water signs!) So it was definitely beautiful, and emotional, though I did miss most of the words of the ceremony because I was chasing after little Ruby while Aaron manned the camera, and of course, (like the little fire sign
she is), did not want to be still for even a moment. Many thanks to Uncle Tom and Becca, and the families for their gracious hosting. It was such a wonderful, special day, and we are so glad we were able to share the experience! I've added some highlights below, but be sure to check out
Addie's pictures, and as always you can view my slideshow
